Disney Greenlights Artemis Fowl Animated Series With Eoin Colfer Producing

An animated television series based on the Artemis Fowl book franchise has been greenlit for Disney Channel and Disney+. The announcement was made by book author Eoin Colfer on Sunday during the 25 Years of Artemis Fowl panel at New York Comic Con. IGN Southeast Asia, IGN, Deadline TV, and Variety TV all reported on the new production. [1][2][3][4]

Author Eoin Colfer will serve as an executive producer on the project, according to reporting from IGN Southeast Asia, Deadline TV, and Variety TV. Variety TV reported that the animated series follows 13-year-old genius Artemis Fowl as he uncovers an underground world of high-tech fairies and launches a plan to capture them. [1][3][4]

The new series comes more than 25 years after Colfer first introduced the book franchise, Deadline TV reported. The Express Tribune and IMDb both noted that the animated television show order comes six years after the release of the live-action movie adaptation. [3][6][7]

Disney+ Press Center, Animation Magazine, Variety, and Deadline also confirmed the greenlight for the animated television series across Disney Channel and Disney+. [5][8][9][10]
