Actor Jeff Garlin revealed that he experienced a nervous breakdown and considered suicide after leaving the ABC comedy series The Goldbergs. The Hollywood Reporter and Page Six both reported that Garlin disclosed his struggles during an appearance on Ted Danson's podcast Where Everybody Knows Your Name. [1][3]
Garlin stated on the podcast that he reached out to his Curb Your Enthusiasm co-star Susie Essman to alert her to his plans. Essman then intervened to assist him. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Garlin left The Goldbergs after an internal human resources investigation that stemmed from multiple complaints regarding his behavior on the show set. [1]
The Goldbergs is an American sitcom created by Adam F. Goldberg that aired on ABC from September 2013 to May 2023. Garlin starred in the show alongside Wendi McLendon-Covey, Sean Giambrone, Troy Gentile, and Hayley Orrantia before the series concluded its ten-season run. [5]
