Actress Inde Navarrette has offered a preview of her Southern accent for her upcoming role as Rogue in Marvel Studios' film reboot of the X-Men. The Hollywood Reporter, AOL, IMDb, IGN Nordic, and Tbreak UAE all reported on the preview, which occurred during a red carpet interview with Canadian news program Etalk. Navarrette offered the brief vocal tease after a reporter noted that fans were eager to hear her character's distinctive accent. [1][2][3][4][5]

Marvel officially announced Navarrette's casting at the D23 fan event earlier in the year, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Maya Boyd as Storm, Asa Germann as Angel, and Adam Driver as Mr. Sinister. The upcoming feature brings the mutant team into the Marvel Cinematic Universe following a long production history under 20th Century Fox. Fox originally acquired the film and television rights to the X-Men characters from Marvel in 1994 for 2.6 million dollars. The studio launched the original film franchise in 2000 with the release of X-Men, which ultimately encompassed thirteen live-action films produced between 2000 and 2020. [6][8]
