Several high-profile actors, musicians, and public figures joined nearly 60,000 participants to run the New York City Marathon on Sunday. Rolling Stone Culture and Variety both reported that actor Jennifer Connelly participated in the 26.2-mile event. Rolling Stone Culture detailed that Connelly completed the race with a finish time of 3:40:09, crossing the finish line alongside her son. [1][2]

The field featured several other figures from the entertainment industry. According to Rolling Stone Culture, musicians Del Water Gap and Joshua Bassett, as well as actor Kristine Froseth, ran in the event. Variety separately reported that television personality Antoni Porowski and actor Dylan Efron were among the runners completing the course on Sunday. [1][2]

The New York City Marathon is an annual long-distance running event that courses through all five boroughs of the city. Established in 1970 by the New York Road Runners Club, the inaugural race took place in Central Park with just 127 entrants before growing into one of the world's pre-eminent Abbott World Marathon Majors. In addition to field appearances by cultural figures, Variety reported that elite athlete Sheila Chepkirui of Kenya earned her second women's title at the 2026 event. Connelly expressed gratitude to event organizers, volunteers, and crowd supporters for creating an extraordinary day for all participants. [1][2]
