The horror film sequel In a Violent Nature: Part 2 will open in movie theaters on February 12, 2027. Deadline and IndieWire both reported that actor Ry Barrett announced the premiere date during a panel at New York Comic-Con on Saturday. Barrett, who plays the masked killer Johnny, made an appearance at the convention to reveal the theatrical launch schedule. [1][2]
The slasher feature is produced and distributed by Independent Film Company and Shudder. IndieWire reported that the horror title will open in theaters against Greta Gerwig's Narnia movie over the Valentine's Day weekend. [1][2]
The original 2024 Canadian slasher film In a Violent Nature was written and directed by Chris Nash and starred Ry Barrett, Andrea Pavlovic, and Lauren-Marie Taylor. Described as an ambient slasher, the story follows a mute killer who is resurrected in the Ontario wilderness and stalks a group of teenagers, with events shown largely from the perspective of the killer. Deadline noted that the original movie made its breakout appearance as part of the Midnight program at the Sundance Film Festival. [1][12]
Chris Nash returns to direct the upcoming sequel, according to Deadline. The new installment continues the story of Johnny, the undead killer clad in a firefighter mask. [1][2][12]
