Lauren LeFranc in Talks to Produce Poison Ivy Series for DC

Lauren LeFranc, the showrunner and executive producer of The Penguin, is in talks to join a new television series focused on Poison Ivy as a producer, Deadline and ComicBookMovie.com report. The proposed project comes from Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Studios. [1][6]

Deadline reported that the Poison Ivy series had been under tracking for several months. Plans to advance the show were previously put on pause during a merger involving Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. Discovery, according to ComicBookMovie.com and Deadline. [1][6]

ComicBookMovie.com reports that LeFranc is being eyed strictly in a producing capacity for the Poison Ivy project. She is not expected to write the series or serve as its showrunner. [1]

LeFranc previously served as the showrunner for The Penguin, a spin-off television series set within the universe of the 2022 film The Batman directed by Matt Reeves. The comic book character Poison Ivy was created by artist Carmine Infantino along with writers Sheldon Moldoff and Robert Kanigher, debuting in Batman issue 181. [1][11][13]
