The audio streaming service Spotify mistakenly displayed Irish lyrics for a Welsh-language version of the song Jolene recorded by the late Dolly Parton. The BBC reported that Spotify removed the Irish text after being contacted for comment. [1]
The single is Parton's second posthumous release following her death on 25 August. According to the BBC, the track was recorded prior to her death and features collaborations with Parton's niece, Jada Star, and Welsh singer-songwriter Bronwen Lewis. The recording includes lyrics sung in both English and Welsh, although Spotify mistakenly displayed the accompanying text in Irish. [1]
Parton was of Welsh descent. Spotify is a music streaming platform founded in April 2006 by Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon in Stockholm, Sweden. [1][5][7]
As FTMQ Entertainment reported earlier, pop singer Miley Cyrus paid tribute to Parton, who was her godmother, during a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. [8]
