Ted Lasso Team Planned Anthony Head Cameo Before Actor Died
Producers of the Apple TV series hoped to feature Anthony Head in the Season 4 finale before his death on June 1.

The creative team behind Ted Lasso planned to bring back actor Anthony Head for the Season 4 finale before he passed away on June 1 at the age of 72. Deadline TV and Deadline both reported that co-creator, executive producer, and star Brendan Hunt revealed the producers had considered an appearance for Head to reprise his role as villain Rupert Mannion. According to Deadline TV, the Apple TV series made several references to Head's character during its fourth season. The show also paid tribute to the late actor with an In Memoriam card in Episode 409. [2]
Ted Lasso is an American sports comedy-drama television series developed by Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt, and Joe Kelly. The show follows an American college football coach hired to manage English football club AFC Richmond. [15]
The Season 4 finale, titled Being Alive, featured several returning cast members, Decider reported. The episode brought back guest stars following the off-screen death of Crown and Anchor pub owner Mae, played by Annette Badland, in the penultimate episode. [4]
