The fourth season of the Apple TV Plus sports comedy series Ted Lasso concluded on October 7, 2026, with its tenth episode. According to The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline TV, the finale episode is titled Being Alive, though Decider noted that Apple TV Plus press materials listed the title as The Departing Lass. Decider, Deadline TV, and The Hollywood Reporter all reported that the season finale brings the ten-episode run to a close while leaving character storylines open for a potential fifth season. [2][4][5]

The season finale resolved several central narrative arcs. According to Decider and The Hollywood Reporter, the plot follows the death of pub owner Mae Greene, played by Annette Badland, and addresses a corporate plot by Zelda Southport, played by Tracey Ullman, to take over the football club from Rebecca, played by Hannah Waddingham. Deadline TV noted that season four expanded the show's narrative by introducing a storyline centered on a women's football team. [2][4][5]

Ted Lasso was developed by Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt, and Joe Kelly, and originally premiered on Apple TV Plus in August 2020. The series follows an American college football coach who is hired to lead the fictional English football club AFC Richmond. Deadline TV reported that the fourth season paid tribute to actor Anthony Head, who played Rupert Mannion and died on June 1 at the age of 72, with an In Memoriam card in the ninth episode. [6][13]

The future of the series remains unconfirmed. The Hollywood Reporter stated that star Jason Sudeikis and the production team are currently awaiting an official renewal decision for a fifth season from Apple TV Plus. [2]
