BBC reveals new images for The Other Bennet Sister Christmas special

The BBC has released new images ahead of the upcoming Christmas special of its television series The Other Bennet Sister, BBC News Entertainment reported. Filming for the three-part special concluded at the end of August. Plot details remain limited, but the broadcaster teased questions surrounding Mary Bennet's new identity following her upcoming marriage. [1][2]

The drama is an adaptation of Janice Hadlow's novel of the same name and serves as a continuation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Produced by Bad Wolf for BBC One, the series stars Ella Bruccoleri as Mary Bennet, Dónal Finn as Mr Hayward, and Laurie Davidson as Mr Ryder. The cast also features Ruth Jones and Richard E. Grant as Mrs and Mr Bennet. [1][3]

The television series originally premiered on March 15, 2026. The initial series was filmed largely in Wales and attracted 6.5 million viewers in the United Kingdom within its first 28 days. In the series finale, Mary Bennet agreed to marry Tom Hayward. [1][3]

Following the success of the initial run, the BBC announced the three-part Christmas special in June 2026. Audiences are now awaiting the return of the series to see how the main character transitions into her new life as Mrs Hayward. [1][3]
