FilmLA has extended its Low Impact Permit Pilot Program for the City of Los Angeles, according to reports from Variety and MyNewsLA.com. Variety reported that the extension allows qualifying film productions to save an average of approximately 1,000 dollars per permit. [1][2]

Variety reported that more than 400 Low Impact permits have been issued since the initiative launched in April. The program serves projects that have a minimal impact on surrounding local residents. [1]

The pilot program supports a wide range of productions, Variety reported. These include online content, short films, music videos, photography, documentaries, scripted feature films, commercials, and television projects. [1]

The two news outlets gave differing end dates for the extended initiative. Variety reported that the program has been extended through April 30, while MyNewsLA.com reported that the pilot program was extended through April 2027. [1][2]
