Filmmakers behind four documentary features assembled at the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival in Arkansas for a podcast roundtable, according to reports from Deadline and Yahoo. The directors represented the non-fiction films American Doctor, To Hold a Mountain, Closure, and Once Upon a Time in Harlem. The discussion took place as critics and other arbiters begin to announce their nominees and shortlists for the awards season. [1][8]

The four titles are among the early favorites emerging in the Academy Awards documentary category, Deadline reported. The roundtable was hosted by Doc Talk live from the festival event in Arkansas. [1]

The Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival is held annually in Hot Springs, Arkansas. It began in 1991 with a screening of ten Academy Award-nominated documentaries. The Academy Awards are presented each year by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to recognize cinematic achievements. [10][11]

Elsewhere in the festival circuit, Variety reported that the Santa Barbara International Film Festival will honor actor Andrew Garfield with the Maltin Modern Master Award on February 6. The 42nd annual festival is scheduled to run from February 3 to February 13. [2][3]
