Hunter Schafer reveals she underwent gender affirming bottom surgery in December

Actress Hunter Schafer revealed in an interview with Elle magazine that she underwent gender-affirming bottom surgery in December. The Hollywood Reporter and the London Evening Standard both reported that the Euphoria star spoke about her medical decision after previously attempting to retain her prior physical state. The Independent and Rolling Stone also confirmed her statements regarding the procedure. [1][3][4][5]

The procedure alters a person's physical characteristics to better align with their gender identity. Schafer described the operation as amazing and noted that she loves the results. The Hollywood Reporter reported that she previously tried to embrace her gender-expansive traits before deciding to move forward with the surgery. [1][8]

Schafer is an American actress, model, and artist who was born in New Jersey and raised in North Carolina. She gained early recognition after joining a 2016 lawsuit against North Carolina state legislation regarding public bathroom access for transgender individuals. [7]

As FTMQ Entertainment reported earlier, Schafer is set to star alongside Michelle Yeoh in the upcoming Amazon Prime Video limited series Blade Runner 2099. The series is set 50 years after the events of Blade Runner 2049. [9]
