James McAvoy reveals Split remains his only source of consistent residuals

Actor James McAvoy recently stated that the 2016 psychological thriller Split is the only film from which he consistently receives residual payments. According to Variety, McAvoy explained that residual payments for other projects are often negligible or sporadic. He noted that he sometimes receives checks for a few hundred pounds, or even tiny amounts such as 25 cents. He added that certain checks literally cost more to post than they do for him to cash. [1]

Creepy Catalog reported that the first residual payment for the movie arrived as early as opening weekend. Split was written, directed, and produced by M. Night Shyamalan.
