Comedian and television host Joy Behar returned to the ABC daytime talk show The View on Tuesday. Her appearance followed an absence of nearly a month after an accident that dislocated her shoulder. Deadline, Variety TV, and Variety all reported her return to the broadcast. [1][2][6]
Variety TV reported that the 84-year-old co-host had been absent since 30 September after suffering a backstage fall. Behar stated that the pain from the injury was worse than childbirth, according to reports from Variety TV, AOL.co.uk, and Yahoo Lifestyle Canada. Page Six noted that she leaned on co-host Sara Haines during her return. [2][3][5][7]
Deadline reported that the live audience gave Behar an enthusiastic welcome as the song The Bitch Is Back played in the studio. Behar joked that the show should have played God Save the Queen, to which co-host Whoopi Goldberg replied that he already did. Behar also expressed gratitude to the studio audience for the warm reception. [1]
Behar has co-hosted The View since the debut of the series. Her past work in broadcasting includes hosting talk shows across HLN, Current TV, and TLC, as well as winning a Daytime Emmy Award for her work on the ABC program in 2009. [9]
