Steven Soderbergh joins The Batman Part II to assist director Matt Reeves

Director Steven Soderbergh has stepped in to help finish the final weeks of principal photography on The Batman Part II, according to reports from Deadline, IndieWire, and Variety. Production on the DC Studios film had been temporarily paused while primary director Matt Reeves stepped away for a private family situation. GoldDerby, IndieWire, and The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Soderbergh approached Reeves to assist with production, and that Reeves will not be on set as filming resumes. GoldDerby reported that Soderbergh praised Reeves's earlier work on The Batman as stunning, intentional, and rigorously coherent. Soderbergh stated his goal is to generate footage that will integrate seamlessly with what Reeves has already shot so the writer-director can properly finish his film. [2][4][5][6]
