The Batman Part II production pauses as director Matt Reeves steps away

Production on the Warner Bros. and DC Studios feature film The Batman Part II has been temporarily paused after director Matt Reeves stepped away for personal reasons. Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter both reported on October 5, 2026, that DC Studios issued a statement confirming the temporary shutdown to allow Reeves to focus on a family matter. Before the production was halted, a leaked set video captured a motorcycle action sequence being filmed for the upcoming superhero movie, SuperHeroHype reported. The film is a direct sequel to the 2022 feature film The Batman. [1][6]

Actor Sebastian Stan recently discussed his role in the project on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Stan described the role as one of the most challenging situations he has been involved in, praising director Reeves as an ambitious filmmaker and expressing hope that the performance lands well with audiences.
