Prime Video series Carrie topped streaming ratings during premiere week

The new series Carrie landed at the top of the United States streaming ratings after garnering over one billion viewing minutes in its premiere week.

The Prime Video series Carrie premiered as the top streaming title in the United States for the week of Oct. 5 to Oct. 11, according to report figures published by The Hollywood Reporter. The show collected 1.26 billion viewing minutes during that period following its debut on Oct. 7. [1]

Showrunner Mike Flanagan developed the eight-episode season as a present-day update of the Stephen King novel. Before the viewership numbers were made public, Prime Video announced that it renewed the project for a second season. [1]

The performance continues a series of rating successes for the platform. The Hollywood Reporter noted that Prime Video held the top overall streaming position six times across an eight-week window in Nielsen ratings, driven earlier by Reacher and its spinoff Neagley. [1]
