Glee reboot in development with original cast members in talks

Original Glee cast members Heather Morris and Chord Overstreet are in talks to return for a series reboot on Disney+ and Hulu, Deadline reported. TVLine, Broadway Shows, and BroadwayWorld also reported that a reboot of the musical series has been ordered by the streaming platforms. The project brings former cast members back into discussions to reprise their original roles for the new production. [1][3][4][8]

Morris portrayed high school cheerleader Brittany S. Pierce, while Overstreet played transfer student and athlete Sam Evans in the original show. The Wrap, IMDb, and Variety previously reported that fellow original star Lea Michele is also in talks to return as Rachel Berry. Meanwhile, former cast member Becca Tobin, who played Kitty Wilde, expressed anxiety about the reboot news, according to Deadline TV and Yahoo. [1][2][5][6][7][9][10][11]

As FTMQ Entertainment reported earlier, series co-creator Ryan Murphy completed a script for the potential revival project. However, former cast member Chris Colfer stated he had not been contacted about participating in the new series after previously starring as Kurt Hummel for six seasons on the Fox network. [13]

The original musical comedy-drama series created by Ryan Murphy aired on the Fox television network from 2009 until 2015. Details on production timelines and additional returning cast members for the Disney+ and Hulu platform release have not yet been announced. [1][2][8][10][11][13]
