QVC Celebrates 40 Years With Debut Documentary Series

Home shopping network QVC is celebrating its 40th anniversary with the premiere of a documentary series titled A QVC Story, Hollywood Reporter TV reported. The docuseries, which debuts on October 13, 2026, chronicles the complete history of the channel. The network's name stands for Quality, Value, and Convenience. [1]

Entrepreneur Joseph Segel founded QVC in November 1986, according to Hollywood Reporter TV. The business maintains its headquarters in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Longtime network host Rick Domeier, who previously acted in films including Evil Dead II and Die Hard 2, serves as the narrator for the new documentary series. [1]

Domeier has worked as a presenter for the company for 32 of its 40 years on air, Hollywood Reporter TV reported. The network expanded its position in the home shopping market in 2017 when it purchased competing service HSN for 2.1 billion dollars. [1]

The company also established international operations, expanding into Europe during its first decade. A United Kingdom version of the channel launched on October 1, 1993, following a joint agreement between parent company QVC, Inc. and Sky TV. [4]
